08 Feb NS CNC at Manufacturing World Japan 2019
This year NSCNC took part in the Manufacturing World Japan show in Tokyo. This show is the world’s leading trade show for the entire manufacturing industry. This year more than 80,000 professional visitors and 1,530 exhibitors gathered in Tokyo Big Sight Exhibition Center in the Ariake Minami district of Tokyo Waterfront in February 6 – 8, 2019.
This is not just one show, it’s seven separate exhibitions combined together: Design Engineering & Manufacturing Solutions Expo, Mechanical Components & Materials Technology Expo, 3D & Virtual Reality Expo, Industrial AI/IoT Expo, Advanced 3D Printing Expo, Aerospace Technology & Components Expo and Factory Facilities & Equipment Expo.
The show, like the entire Big Sight Exhibition Center, is striking in its gigantic size. The distance between the farthest exposures is about one kilometer. Of all the exhibitions in which we participate, this is perhaps the largest in terms of the number of visitors. All three days of the exhibition, thousands of people walked in a continuous stream. We were little surprised that many of them wore breathing masks.
We took part in this show for the first time. Although we have already participated in a show in Tokyo, in the same Big Sight before, but it was a jewelry show. Therefore, we were a little afraid about how well we would fit into the theme of the show. We exhibited in the pavilion of the Advanced 3D Printing Expo. We were surrounded by an enormous amount of different prototyping devices. But our fears were unfounded. Our machines were interesting to many visitors. Around our booth there were people who wanted to look at the machine and at the samples that it could do. All of our three Japanese partners, representing the machine, continued talking with visitors all the time.
Probably the most pleasant part of a trip to any show in Japan, it’s dinner with colleagues in the evening after the day of the show. Indescribably great Japanese restaurants with fantastic cuisine and tastes. Tokyo seems to possess some mysterious attraction. We always return again and again.
